Peek inside @styleandsugars Japandi Interior
We got to take a look at Greet's Japandi interior! She is an entrepreneur, blogger and an experienced interior stylist. She inspires with her Instagram account @styleandsugar, gives interior advice and master classes. Together with her boyfriend her boyfriend Maurice and daughter Nore, they live in this newly built house in Zwolle. Are you curious to know how interior stylist Greet tackled the design of her own home? Get inspired in this blog.
Japandi home
Greet describes her living style as Japandi, which is a combination of Japanese and Scandinavian. She likes this style so much because of its warmth, contrast and different materials and shapes. Their previous 1930s house did not lend itself so well to this style. But with the new house, the dark window frames served as a starting point to make the living style a bit darker. In the Japandi style, you see a lot of organic shapes. This is reflected, for instance, in vases, Greet's favourite kind of accessory. She likes to make vases part of her interior. For instance, she has a round vase by H&M in different sizes; it is a vase that fits the Japandi style perfectly.

Creative DIYs
Greet not only loves styling her interiors, she is also super creative. She often shares cool DIYs. A Do it Yourself literally means ‘make it yourself’. When she sees beautiful items she often thinks ‘can't I do this myself?’. Greet likes to spend time and attention on it, and when the result turns out beautifully, it gives her energy. So together with her boyfriend, she made her own compartment cabinet for the sideboard in the living room, which serves as a partition for the slatted wall and the wall. A super result, for inspiration you have come to the right place with Greet!
Interior design matching Greet's style
Greet now runs an interior design course in addition to interior design consultancy. While making plans for her own home, she came up with the idea of writing this course and with success. Mainly people who like her style and want an interior like this themselves do her course. With this, her students go through the steps you take when designing your interior, in Greet's style! Working with a style close to herself allows her to get everything out of it. Her own Japandi interior therefore serves as the perfect calling card.
The choice for corner sofa Sommer
When Greet and Maurice moved into this newly built house, the old sofa no longer fitted in well. In terms of size but also style, it no longer felt right. She ended up at By SIDDE and soon loved Sommer sofa. The sofa fit perfectly with the style she had in mind. After receiving the free fabric sample kit, she knew right away it was going to be the Sommer in Oat Beige. Now they are enjoying the large corner sofa that fits perfectly into the space. Not only Greet and Maurice are fans of Sommer sofa, but cat Jip has also claimed a place for himself.
Creative jack-of-all-trades
Greet is not only creative when it comes to interiors, she is also refurbishing a doll's house. It is a real challenge to decorate a house in miniature. An enjoyable hobby and also fun for her daughter to play with. Recently, she got to write a home issue every month for Kek Mama Magazine. Ever since she was young, she has loved the idea of writing for a magazine, this is a dream come true for Greet.
